Vampire’s recipe – Goat blood fry

Yes, you read it right. There are people who eat goat blood. If you have never eaten goat blood fry, you might be thinking of goat blood as red thick liquid boiling in a pan. No, it does not look like that.

In slaughterhouse, goat blood is collected in a small plate and they sometimes put required amount of salt and allow it to clot. Slowly, thick red liquid transforms into a red jelly cake in the shape of the plate. People buy those blood jelly cakes and break into small pieces by pressing with fingers and then cook.

Though it sounds crazy, it tastes very good as well as healthy. And, in South Indian tradition, it is served to new groom when he comes to his father-in-law’s house for the first feast. If you hadn’t tried goat blood fry yet, I strongly suggest you to try that. And, this is the only thing from goat which contains no fat.
